Fool-Proof Peanut Butter Fudge

So the Holidays are upon us and I loved baking some home-made from scratch sugar cookies last year.  Had all intentions of our wonderful son helping me decorate them & everything.  Yeahhh that lasted for a good total of a hot minute!! LOL  Gotta love toddlers :)   So this year though I really wanted to do them again simplicity just seems to be the best fit with our busy busy fall into winter schedules.

So perusing through my daily ventures on Pinterest I came across this repin of Fool-Proof Peanut Butter Fudge from http://realmomkitchen.com/9290/foolproof-peanut-butter-fudge/ .  That wonderful light-bulb AH-HA moment came into play on FINALLY being able to put to use a thing of frosting i've had in my pantry. Now the peanut butter was another issue since the only cannister of PB I had was almost half way used, so off to the grocery store for me.  Well after figuring out I had the wrong number of ounces on the PB, got 18oz instead of the 16.3oz, & wrong size pan, calls for 9X9 I only have an 8x8, this recipe still worked & per the kiddo & DH it came out a hit!

**haha sorry for the missing pieces some couldn't help resist before I could take a picture**

Ingredients:
  1 tub (1 lb/16oz) Vanilla Frosting
1 jar (16.3 oz) Creamy Peanut Butter
**in the comments suggestions on original site it said you could use a combination of frosting options, I had cream cheese & added several big squirts of chocolate syrup--will be trying other frosting options.   For the holiday season I added Christmas/Holiday sprinkles on top for that holiday/Christmas feel**

Directions:
Line a 9 x 9 inch dish with foil and set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl, add Vanilla Frosting and Peanut Butter, do not stir. Microwave 1min
Stir until until combined and smooth
Pour into pan and spread until even
 Refrigerate until firm
Remove fudge from the pan using foil and cut into squareshttp://diysimpleathome.blogspot.com/2012/12/fool-proof-peanut-butter-fudge.html

Honey Garlic Pork Chops

So here we go with my first post of my first blog ever.  I've never been one to start my own website or anything like that but after getting some ideas from we all know where LOL PINTEREST, I thought what the heck let me try.  So anyone who knows me knows I love to cook, I love to craft, I love being a mom and wife and helping with my services and abilities where ever I can.

My friends and family have actually suggested numerous times that I should open my own restaurant and what not, blah blah blah LOL no thanks, would be nice but no.  Most importantly the big reason of a no is well i'm quite honestly pretty terrified that Mr. Gordon Ramsey himself, whom I adore haha, would come and feature my restaurant on one of his many shows I watch--Kitchen Nightmares.  Plus haha I don't handle stress and the heat of the kitchen well either so hince where the SIMPLE comes into play.  I like to make you think I put alot of hard work and effort into it. :)

So what got me started on Pinterest?!  Well quite honestly I was a die-hard "Oh i'm not going to try out this new kraze, it's ridiculous, not going to give in ever."  HA! Was I ever wrong and I sadly must admit at times I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!  LOL  I got started because well I got engaged and to win a DIY wedding reception you HAD to create a wedding DIY board on where?? Yup you guessed it good ol' Pinterest.  Which brings me to here to blog about what works, what doesn't, what tastes good, what doesn't, & great things I've found.

So after all that blah blah blah non-sense i'm sure you're ready for me to get onto the recipe.  So here it is last night we tried this recipe Honey Garlic Pork Chops.  Where'd I find the recipe, you guessed it Pinterest?!  After reading several of the comments and suggestions from the original site, http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=59689 , I decided to go ahead and try it.  Out come?!  Well to me to it was just OK, nothing spectacular, nothing special--DH said he liked it and would like to have again.  It might have been the pre-minced garlic I used but I didn't like the garlic taste in it and I absolutely LOVE garlic salt in almost like EVERYTHING!!  We will try it again but next time instead of baking at 375 for 40mins and using the pre-minced garlic I will have DH grill it and use garlic salt instead and let you know the outcome.

Ingredients:
  1/4 + 1/8 cup honey
  3 Tbsp soy sauce
6 cloves garlic, minced(1 clove=1/2tsp of minced garlic)
6 pork loin chops, boneless, trimmed of excess fat, 4 oz each
**for this recipe for 6 pork chops I didn't feel this original information/ingredients was to be enough to marinade so I doubled everything but the pork chops & marinated for 24hours**

Directions:
In a shallow dish, whisk together honey, soy sauce and garlic.
Coat chops in mixture.
Reserve left over honey mixture for basting.
Place chops on greased grill over med high heat, close lid and cook. basting 2 times
**I decided to bake at the advice of others on the site at 375 for 40 minutes & marinate the chops over night for almost a complete 24 hours**
